Latvian Martins Blums will stay with the CST PostNL Bafang Mountainbike Racing Team in 2021!
Martins Blums will also be part of the CST PostNL Bafang Mountainbike Racing Team in 2021. Due to the worldwide situation regarding Covid-19, we have had a totally ‘different’ season this year.
Our aim to be at the start with the 2020 Team in 2021 is complete with the extension of the collaboration with Martins!
Martins will focus on good results in the UCI World Cup XCO and XCC in the coming year. Martins will also focus on E-Mountainbiking.
Bart Brentjens, Team Director CST PostNL Bafang MTB Racing Team:
“This 2020 season was a very strange season in which a lot was asked of the riders mentally and physically. The focus towards Tokyo 2020 was completely disrupted and other qualities were asked of the riders.
Martins was ready to start as soon as he was allowed to compete again and he had good results. Unfortunately Martins was struggling with health problems at the time of the UCI World Cups. Just before the World Championships, the Team and Martins decided it was better to first get good medical examination in Latvia, health first.
The focus is now restored and is to do good at the UCI World Cups in 2021.
Martins will also focus on international E-Mountainbike competitions.
We have every confidence that Martins will do everything to have the best possible season in 2021!”
Martins Blums, Latvia, 53rd in the current UCI Ranking :
”I’m excited to continue for another season with the team. I feel very comfortable in the team and I’ m motivated to work together towards our goals in 2021!
This 2020 for me was with some ups and downs. I started the season with some good results, but could not finish the season on high due to health issues.
I’ m ready to work hard and I am fully motivated to reach higher results in 2021.
In 2021 main focus will be on UCI World Cups, World and European Championships.”
The Tokyo Olympic Games will be held from July 23 till August 8, 2021
Olympic Mountainbike is on the program at:
– July 27 Men’s Cross Country
– July 28 Women’s Cross Country
