Bafang and CST PostNL Bafang Mountainbike Racing Team continue the sponsoring partnership in the Olympic year 2021!
After two successful years together, Bafang will continue the sponsoring partnership with the Team in the next Olympic year. Both, Bafang and the Team, have the intention to co- operate together to Paris Olympic Games 2024.
In the past two years Bafang developed together with American Eagle and the riders of the CST PostNL Bafang Mountainbike Racing Team, their first E-MTB and competed and performed well in the UCI E-mountainbike racing class.
Dutch E-Mountainbike rider Kjell van den Boogert made a great debut in international E- Mountainbike, flying like an ‘Eagle’. Highlights were great international podium places at the UCI World Cups in Albstadt and Italy, in the Wes Series and the Dutch National Title of 2020.
Because of the worldwide situation concerning Covid-19 the schedule of international E- Bike racing was quite different and left us just a very few races this season.
Luckily the UCI World Championships 2020 in Leogang was on the rescheduled program, just like the Dutch National Championships E-Mountainbike, where Kjell van den Boogert became National Dutch Champion E-Mountainbike 2020.
Jack Brandsen, Europe General manager for Bafang Electric Motor Science Technology B.V.:
“Since it is very stimulating for Bafang to work with one of the most professional mountain bike teams in the world, to develop together products that meet the high demands of the team in terms of durability, reliability and top performance, we are very happy to continue our partnership.
The feedback we get from the professional riders is very useful, we transform this into improvements not only for the team products, but also for all our products in the mass market.
We very much look forward to continuing to work together; engineered to make you smile.”
Bart Brentjens, Team Director CST PostNL Bafang Mountainbike Racing Team:
“The process of developing a winning E-Mountainbike together with Bafang and American Eagle has gone so fast over the past 2 years! It feels like we have just started. Until now it has been an interesting and challenging project.
Not only me, but our XCO riders are all very excited about the American Eagle Bafang E- Mountainbike that we have developed and they love to ride it. So much, that some of our riders will also ride international E-Mountainbike competitions next year in addition to their regular program.
It is good to see that the popularity of the E-Mountainbike is growing enormously and fast! Not only with consumers, but also as a competitive sport. It is great to be able to contribute to this and to be able to bring the E-Mountainbike bike to the attention together with our partner Bafang. In the last period we have been able to gain a lot of experience and knowledge. We are convinced that we can still improve.
The Team is ready to continue the journey with even more beautiful adventures”.
