Sebastian Fini Carstensen together with the CST PostNL Bafang Mountainbike Racing Team direction Tokyo 2020 (1)!
For the next Olympic year Danish rider Sebastian Fini Carstensen – current National XCO and Cyclo Cross Champion – will continue together with the CST PostNL Bafang Mountainbike Racing Team direction the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021. ‘Fini’ is a member of the Team since 2016.
Bart Brentjens, Team Director CST PostNL Bafang Mountainbike Racing Team:
“We are happy to announce Fini will continue with the Team towards the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021. For already 5 years we are working together. Fini started in the team as an U23 rider with high ambitions and motivated to make the long climb to the top of international mountainbiking with the highest goal, to join the Olympic Games.
Fini is 25 years ‘young’ now, an energetic talented rider and he is still developing himself as a strong all-round professional mountainbiker.
We are happy the Team and Fini will work together again in the next Olympic year and that we stay together on this journey. We started this #GoTokyo2020 road together and it will be great to reach this goal in Tokyo next summer.”
Sebastian Fini Carstensen, Danish National Champion Cyclocross 2020 and XCO 2019 Number 26 in the current overall UCI ranking:
“I am very happy that the team is seeing the potential of me as a rider and that they see a bright future for me. I have been in the team for 5 years already.
I know all the staff, the atmosphere is always good and I feel comfortable here, which is important for my performance in races and training.
I am sure the team and I can achieve some really good results together.
I’m beyond happy that even in these uncertain Corona times, the team has faith in me. That means a lot to me. I am an ambitious rider and pleased that I have such a team facilitating me, to make another step towards the top of the international mountainbike scene. I will do my very best together with the team.”
Saturday August 9, Fini had his first XCO competition after the lockdown (Covid-19). He participated at the UCI international Strabag Mountainbike Cup in Zadov, Czech Republic. He came back with victory!
